Can I Mix Sizes Within a 30-Piece MOQ?
How the minimum order works at Pexton Apparel, and how to split a small first order across sizes without overstocking.
Yes. Our minimum order is 30 pieces per design, and you can split those 30 pieces across sizes however your customers need – for example XS to XXL. You do not need 30 pieces in each size.
How our MOQ works
MOQ means minimum order quantity: the smallest run a factory will produce for one design. At Pexton Apparel that number is 30 pieces per design. Within those 30 pieces, the size split is yours to choose. This keeps a first order small enough to test the market, while still giving the factory a run worth setting up cutting, decoration and sewing for.
Example size splits for a 30-piece order
There is no single correct split – it depends on your customers. These examples show how brands commonly spread a small run. Treat them as a starting point, not a rule.
| Product | XS | S | M | L | XL | XXL |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unisex streetwear hoodie | – | 5 | 9 | 9 | 5 | 2 |
| Women’s leggings | 4 | 8 | 9 | 6 | 3 | – |
| Team jerseys (one squad) | – | 4 | 8 | 10 | 6 | 2 |
For team orders, the split usually comes straight from the player list, so there is no guesswork at all.
How to choose your own size run
- Start from data if you have it. Past sales, pre-orders or a team roster beat any rule of thumb.
- Weight the middle sizes. For most adult apparel, M and L sell first. Keep the outer sizes lean on a first run.
- Check your fit block. An oversized streetwear fit often sells smaller sizes than a true-to-size athletic cut. Send us your size chart and we sample to it – see our starting size charts.
- Reorder what sells. A small first run lets you reorder the sizes that sell out instead of sitting on the ones that do not.
What counts as one design?
A design is one garment style made to one specification. If two versions differ in a way that changes production – a different fabric, cut or artwork – they are usually planned as separate designs. When you are unsure, send us both versions and we will tell you how they count before you order.
In practice: clubs often mix junior and senior sizes in one design – see teamwear for clubs. New brands use the same rule for a first streetwear or activewear drop.
Common follow-up questions
Is the MOQ the same for every product?
Our standard MOQ is 30 pieces per design across our clothing categories. If a specific product or fabric needs a different minimum, we tell you in the quote.
Can I add player names and numbers inside the 30 pieces?
Yes. For team orders, names, numbers and sizes can all vary inside the same design.
Can I reorder fewer than 30 pieces later?
Ask us when you plan the reorder. We confirm reorder quantities case by case.
Do I need a size chart?
It helps. Send your own chart, or start from ours and adjust it to your fit.
