If you are launching a streetwear label this year, the factory you pick will decide your fabric weight, your fit and your cash flow more than any design choice. This guide is written from the streetwear manufacturer side: what buyers ask us for in 2026, and what you should check before you send a tech pack to anyone.
The market is big, but the estimates are not the same
Streetwear is now one of the largest segments in fashion, but research firms measure it differently. Fortune Business Insights values the global market at about USD 398 billion in 2026 and expects roughly USD 734 billion by 2034. SkyQuest uses a narrower definition and puts 2025 at about USD 199 billion. The exact number matters less than the direction: every major report shows steady growth, and that growth keeps bringing new small brands into the market.

What streetwear buyers are actually ordering
1. Heavyweight, boxy hoodies. Oversized and boxy fits with dropped shoulders lead almost every 2026 hoodie trend report, including Printful’s list of best-selling styles. Buyers want fabric that holds its shape. At Pexton our standard hoodie fleece is 300–350 GSM, and our heavyweight option is 450 GSM (see our fabric GSM guide) for brands that want that structured, premium feel.
2. Quiet branding. Muted colours such as black, oatmeal, taupe, grey and moss green keep coming up, with tonal embroidery and small chest marks replacing loud front prints. 3D puff embroidery is still the most requested premium detail on our floor.
3. Washed and worn finishes. Acid wash, distressing and vintage-style dye effects give a new brand an “aged” look without a big design budget.
4. Small first runs. New labels want to test a drop before committing cash. Small-batch production is now a normal way to launch, not a sign of a weak brand.

Why more brands are looking at Pakistan
US tariffs were reset again in 2026. After the US Supreme Court struck down the 2025 “reciprocal” tariffs in February, a new Section 301 duty took effect on 24 July 2026: 10% on goods from Pakistan and 12.5% on goods from China, added on top of the normal MFN duty, as reported by Arab News. Chinese goods can also carry older China-specific duties. Tariffs change often, which is why Pexton ships duty paid (DDP) to the USA, UK, Europe, Ireland and Canada: the price you approve already covers import duty, and you do not deal with customs. For UK, EU, Australian and Canadian brands, Pakistan’s advantage is mainly cotton fleece, skilled cut-and-sew labour and short sampling times.

Checklist: before you choose a streetwear manufacturer
- Ask for the real MOQ per design, not per order. Pexton’s minimum is 30–50 pieces per product/design, and you can mix sizes within that MOQ.
- Ask for GSM in writing. “Heavyweight” means nothing without a number. Ours: 300–350 GSM standard, 450 GSM heavyweight. Not sure which fabric? Read French terry vs fleece.
- Check sample time and what happens to the sample fee. Our samples take 8–10 days, and 50% of the sample fee is credited to your bulk order.
- Get a bulk timeline after sample approval. Ours is 14–16 days, depending on quantity, artwork and specs. Detailed items like rhinestones can take longer.
- Confirm which embellishments the factory can actually do. Ask to see 3D puff embroidery, chenille patches, rhinestones, reflective logos, acid wash and distressing on real garments.
- Ask how you will see production. We send photo and video updates during production, and you are welcome to send your own third-party inspector.
- Ask who checks quality. Our production is led by Haji Yaseen (35+ years in apparel) and quality control by Asad Ullah Khan (25+ years). See how our quality assurance works.
