How Much Does Custom Clothing Manufacturing Cost?

Every order we make is priced on its own specification, so there is no single price list. This guide explains exactly what affects the cost of custom hoodies, t-shirts, activewear and team uniforms – so you can plan your budget and get an accurate quote faster.

The 6 things that decide your price

Pexton Apparel is an OEM and private label clothing manufacturer in Sialkot, Pakistan. When we quote, these are the factors we look at – in roughly this order of impact.

1

Fabric type and weight (GSM)

Fabric is usually the biggest part of the cost. Heavyweight 400 GSM fleece costs more than a 280 GSM hoodie fleece; performance nylon-spandex for leggings costs more than polyester-spandex. Organic or specialty fabrics add further.

2

Order quantity

Our MOQ is 30 pcs per design and you can mix sizes. Larger quantities lower the price per piece, because cutting, setup and sampling costs are shared across more garments.

3

Branding method

Sublimation, screen print, puff print, DTF, embroidery, patches and tackle twill all cost differently. Screen print and embroidery depend on colours and stitch count; full sublimation has no per-colour cost.

4

Design complexity (cut & sew)

Extra panels, zips, pockets, hoods, linings, reflective details and special washes (acid wash, vintage, distressing) all add time and material to each piece.

5

Labels, tags and packaging

Woven neck labels, printed care labels, hang tags and branded polybags or boxes turn a garment into a retail-ready product. Each option is quoted separately so you can choose what you need.

6

Shipping method (DDP)

We ship DDP – duties paid – to the USA, UK and most of Europe, so the price you approve includes delivery and import duties with no surprises. Air courier is faster; sea freight is cheaper for larger orders.

How much does it cost to start a clothing brand?

For a new clothing brand, the biggest budget question is the first production run. With a low MOQ clothing manufacturer like Pexton Apparel, you don’t need thousands of pieces – you can launch with 30 pcs per design. A typical first drop is 3–5 designs (for example a hoodie, a t-shirt and joggers), so your first order is roughly 90–150 pieces in total. Your startup cost then depends on:

  • Samples – one pre-production sample per style to approve fit, fabric and print
  • Bulk production – price per piece × quantity, driven by the six factors above
  • Private label extras – neck labels, hang tags and branded packaging
  • Shipping – DDP delivery with duties paid to the USA, UK and most of Europe

What affects the price of popular products

How much does it cost to make a hoodie?

Custom hoodie prices depend mainly on fleece weight (GSM), fit (regular or oversized), branding (screen print, puff print or embroidery) and extras like zips or special washes. Heavyweight oversized hoodies with embroidery sit at the top of the range.

Bulk custom t-shirt prices

T-shirt cost is driven by cotton quality and GSM, the print method and number of colours, and whether you add custom neck labels. Bulk orders of the same tee in several colours are the most cost-effective.

Activewear & gym wear manufacturing cost

Leggings, sports bras and gym sets are priced mostly on the performance fabric (nylon-spandex vs polyester-spandex), squat-proof construction, waistband and pocket details, and logo method.

Team uniform & sportswear prices

Sublimated soccer, basketball and volleyball uniforms are priced per set (jersey + shorts). Full sublimation means names, numbers and sponsor logos don’t add per-colour costs – a big saving for teams and clubs.

How quantity changes the price per piece

Quantity per designWhat to expectBest for
30–50 pcsHighest price per piece – setup costs are shared over fewer garments.New brands testing a first drop, teams and clubs
100–300 pcsNoticeably lower price per piece; the most common range for growing brands.Restocks, best-sellers, full team kits
500+ pcsBest price per piece and sea-freight options become worthwhile.Established brands and wholesale orders

Tip: mixing sizes within one design is free, so 30 pcs can be split across XS–XXL. Keeping the same fabric and colour across styles can also bring the price down.

Price guide FAQs

Why don’t you publish a fixed price list?

Two hoodies can look similar but differ in fabric weight, print and finishing, which changes the cost a lot. Quoting each order on its real specification is the only way to give you a price you can trust.

What is the minimum order?

30 pcs per design, and sizes can be mixed within that quantity.

Do your prices include shipping and duties?

For DDP orders to the USA, UK and most of Europe, yes – delivery and import duties are included in the price you approve. EU buyers may also benefit from GSP+, which can reduce duties on apparel made in Pakistan, and the UK DCTS scheme can reduce or remove duties.

Is there a charge for samples?

Sample costs depend on the product and are confirmed in your quote before you approve anything.

Can I have my order inspected?

Yes – independent third-party inspection by SGS, Intertek or QIMA is always welcome.
